The Pòsit was started up in 1949 in Arenys de Mar by Maria Ollora and Generoso Blasco. It quickly became known to serve the best paellas in the area. But it was not until 1962 that it was given permission to open the restaurant in Arenys de Mar (Barcelona) by the beach and port that is its current location, in the building of the old Lloberas bath house.

Throughout the sixties the restaurant’s fame and reputation extended along the whole Catalan coast. It became known as a restaurant specialised not only in paellas but also fish and seafood. 1998 was a year of change for the Pòsit.

The family Hernández Casas took on the restaurant and carried out modernisation refurbishments, whilst maintaining the traditional and original charm of the restaurant. Over 50 years’ experience stand behind the gastronomic proposals of the Pòsit Group, which now avails of three restaurants: in Arenys de Mar, Sitges and Barcelona city. They all have a trajectory and tradition that guarantee the carefulness and quality behind their cuisine.
